2014 was a very busy year for Liberty's Exiles. Our second year as a band, and by the end of the year we had released a total of six albums worth of new material (one of those being a two disc set), a single ("Crossing Over"), and two compilation albums (which consisted of material from the three albums that we released in 2013). In addition to all that we released, we also finished several more albums that are just waiting for their release dates. So yes, our second year as a band was really quite busy... but we had a lot of fun.
This month, June 2015, marked our second anniversary, and just like the first anniversary, we thought that we would mark this occasion by releasing a free CD compiling music from the albums that we released in 2014. The music that we released last year shows our growth as a band, and also shows where we're heading in the future. And let me tell you this, the best is yet to come my friends.
Over the course of these albums, we explored many different lyrical topics, and hit on many musical genres, all while having the time of our lives writing and recording. Some songs took a long time to get perfect (particularly "You're No Better Than Me", on my part), and some songs went surprisingly quick. But in the end, I think we proved that you don't need a huge budget to record good music, you just have to have heart, and a love of doing so. Thankfully, the both of us have plenty of that.
Before you go, I just want to thank everybody that has supported us along the way. All of the people that have taken the time to listen to our music, and have taken the time to express their opinions to us. It means the world to us that you have listened. I would also like to personally dedicate this album to Amber Bredemeier, miw, and a very good friend of mine.
And now, I set you lose to strap on your headphones, and listen as we tackle hard rock, melodic rock, symphonic rock, some prog... a genre that we like to call "PROCK".
